Psychologist, Kingston, Tasmania
Before beginning my journey into psychology, I spent several decades working across hospitality, business management, and the not-for-profit sector. Eventually, I found myself drawn to a career where I could use my learnings in a more meaningful way – and studying psychology felt like a natural next step. Now, as part of the team at Psychology South, I feel privileged to support clients in ways that are practical, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based care. I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults, including those navigating life transitions, mental health challenges, or caring for loved ones experiencing distress. My work experience to date has allowed me to provide tailored support to clients across the age span – including family carers and individuals managing complex mental health needs.
My approach is easy-going and grounded in warmth, humour, and genuine curiosity. I aim to create a calm, respectful space where clients feel heard and supported as they explore their goals, challenges, and strengths.
Originally from the United States but living for many years on the mainland, I relocated to Tasmania with my family in 2019 and now proudly call The Channel home. When I’m not at Psychology South and Clarity Health Care, I’m most likely cooking (I’m a reformed chef!), enjoying time with my family, reading, listening to podcasts, or walking along Tassie’s beautiful coastline.
My work is client-centred, strengths-based, and always collaborative. I tailor therapy to suit each individual, drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches and using visuals or analogies to help make concepts clear and relevant. I believe therapy can be both serious and light-hearted, and I aim to strike a balance that allows for both depth and ease.
